Barbara Camilla Tucholski
in situ - Drawings and paintings - May 27 until July 01, 2017

We are proud to announce the third solo show of works by Barbara Camilla Tucholski at Werner Klein Gallery, Cologne. Celebrating the artists 70th birthday the exhibition will show drawings, paintings and works on paper, that have been made 1991 - 2017.

Barbara Camilla Tucholskis way of drawing is not derivided from a concept of any kind. It is the outcome of a lengthy experience of seeing. The artist says that while she is drawing she finds it particularly easy to fortget herself, and she discovers new spaces in drawing where the magic of objects is greater then any personal mood. What seem to be unpretentious protocols,of her visits are creatively reflected views which go further than pure capturing of the facts. (Carmela Thiele in THE MORE I DRAW, Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen 2010)

Barbara Camilla Tucholski was born 1947 in Loitz in Western Pomerania, then part of German Democratic Republic. In 1953 her parents fled to Western Germany. Since 1989 her birthplace Loitz and her parents house have again become a place for her imagination and her artistic work. Based on her artistic interventions she has published her Loitz Trilogy, three artist books “Im Schloss meiner Erinnerung“ (2010), “Window shopping“ (2012) and “Das Glück dieser Erde“ (2017).
